Pedia 2.0

This is a website that I originally planned to make, but never got around too. Here are my notes, and Pedia 2.0 was the example name of the project.

Pedia 2.0

1. Pedia 2.0 will be a free web encyclopedia with definitions, primary and secondary sources, user submitted information/feedback, as well as student papers and essays.

2. Each article on the encyclopedia will be researched with sources cited for correct information.

3. Each article can have 1-6 editors who earn money with Google Adsense. (60% of the ads shown / X amount of writers(1-6)). They may choose to donate their share to charity.

4. The article will have the primary sources on top, with secondary sources below that. User comments/feedbacks/opinions will be at the bottom, due to the fact they may be incorrect/biased.

5. Students may submit their school/college papers, essays, documents, researches, and notes to be publicly hosted and availible relating to that article. This is so if someone is reasearching “tongue cancers”, they will have primary and secondary sources, as well as example essays, quotes, and opinions to reference.

6. At the bottom of each article will have the full source URL’s, whereas in the article referencing that source, it will just contain the domain.
— (10/09/2007 - census.gov whereas it is actually census.gov/directory/popular/etc/index2.php).

7. Each page will have a main category, as well as sub-categories.
— The main category will put that article into that category, and the URL will be Pedia20.com/*cat*/*article* so for an article about Guinea Pigs, it will be Pedia20.com/animals/guinea-pigs (the category is selected by the featured writer, so he could choose to do “mammals” rather than “animals” getting more specific, but in the search engines, it will give people a tiny bit more information before they visit that page.

8. On the far bottom right of each article, it will have an ‘Additional Reading’ section, where you can find more information about that article.
—An example would be a book for sale, more websites, online polls, etc.
