Pubmobile – A Rolling Beer Garden, Bar or Pub
Sure, anybody can cater a party by bringing in a cheap portable bar, setting up a table next to it and filling glasses. But it takes real panache to make it an extra special event and a mobile pub might just do the trick.
A mobile bar, beer garden or pub adds atmosphere and ambiance and turns an boring event into a memorable party. I know, that sounds like a commercial but if you think about it, it would be fun and different. Your customers, the people hiring you to show up, will enjoy not having to lift a finger and wind up with a party experience people won’t forget.
Putting a pub on wheels isn’t the tough part. The tough part is making sure that you can design a mobile pub experience that makes people feel like they are at the original pub. For a pub, a dart board is mandatory along with all the trappings and decorations to let people know that when they step up to the bar they are taking a little trip into merry old England.
The portable beer garden setup can handle a lot of guests, is a perfect outdoor event and with some music and server costumes, your partygoers will feel like they are walking into a beer garden, even if it is the Ikoyi Club in Lagos.
Your portable party needs to have all the equipment to keep cold things cold and hot things hot and to know the difference. You’ll needs pub tables and chairs or outdoor tables and benches for the beer garden. Take a look at the Tipsey Gypsey site to see an example of this idea in action. The site also shows plans on what a portable pub cart looks like.
Now, let’s not stop with just those ideas, how about a portable tiki bar, maybe a old seaport bar (fog horn and all), a Mexican fiesta bar, or a beach bar with sand, limbo and all that.
Here are a couple of other sites with travelling bar ideas as well, Roka and Holstein
