Rather than painting or posting signs in urban areas you could instead get a message across my making a stencil of what you would like to say and using a power washer you could actually clean your message into the walls and sidewalks of dirty urban areas.

Your clients would have promotion, at least a part of something would actually get cleaned, and no damage would happen to the walls or other surfaces that you applied the power washed message to.
